The most significant of exports was to theMyanmar Army which acquired 1000 BTR-3Us, to be assembled inMyanmar .Iraq has also announced that they will buy 336 veriants of the vehicle. The BTR-3U is an all-new production vehicle, rather than an upgrade of the existing in-service vehicle, such as theBTR-80 .
*BTR-4 another Ukrainian BTR-80 variant eight-wheeled APC (2006) designed in Ukraine by the Kharkiv Morozov Machine Building Design Bureau (SOE KMDB) as a private venture. The prototype was unveiled at the Aviasvit'2006 exhibition held in Ukraine in June 2006. The vehicle has a conventional layout similar to western designs with the driver's and commander's compartment at the front part of the hull, the engine and transmission compartment in the middle, and the troop compartment at the rear. The troops enter and leave the vehicle either through the rear doors or the roof hatches, and the driver and the commander are provided with doors located on the sides of the hull.

*BTR-50 is a tracked APC (1950s) based on thePT-76 amphibious lighttank chassis. Like the PT-76, the BTR-50 has a flat, boat-shaped hull. Unlike the PT-76 it has a new superstructure added to the front of the vehicle. The hull of the BTR-50 is made of all-welded steel with the crew compartment at the front, troop compartment in the center and the engine compartment at the rear. It has an ability to transport up to twenty fully equipped infantrymen who sit on benches which run across the full width of the troop compartment. They mount and dismount the APC by climbing over the sides of the hull.

Each 2A7M gun has a max. rate of fire of 850 rds/min. The same gun is mounted on theZSU-23-4 . The BAU-23x2 module can also be mounted on other armoured vehicles like theBTR-70 orRatel IFV . Jordan ordered 50 BTR-94's in 1997, the first vehicles were delivered in 2000.
