Joyce Tyldesley

Joyce Ann Tyldesley is a British archaeologist, academic, and freelance writer. She was Honorary Research Fellow at the School of Archaeology, Classics, and Oriental Studies at Liverpool University and lecturer of Egyptology.

Tyldesely was born in Bolton, Lancashire. In 1981 she earned a first-class honours degree in archaeology from Liverpool University, and doctorate from Oxford in 1986. Actually, she is the tutor of the Certificate in Egyptology of the University of Manchester.

She is married with two children to Egyptologist [http://www.liv.ac.uk/sace/organisation/people/snape.htm Steven Snape] and lives in Lancashire.

In January 2008, her then-most recent book, "Cleopatra: Last Queen of Egypt", was the Book of the Week on BBC Radio 4.
