The Governor of West Virginia is the chief executive of West Virginia. He serves a term of four years, and cannot serve more than two consecutive terms. He is the commander-in-chief of the state's military forces and is charged by the West Virginia Constitution with carrying out the state's laws. [http://www.legis.state.wv.us/wvcode/wv_con.cfm]
