John first began working professionally at the age of 16, with a series of black and white illustrations for
TSR 's "DRAGON and DUNGEON" magazines. In college, while majoring in illustration at New York'sSchool of Visual Arts , and studying under noted artists asWill Eisner ,Walter Simonson , andJack Potter , Leon began his comic book career with a mini-series forDark Horse Comics ,RoboCop : Prime Suspect, and followed with theDC Comics /Milestone ,Static , which eventually developed into the popular animated television show,Static Shock .Leon received his Bachelor's in Fine Arts from SVA in 1994, and began working on some of the most popular American comics characters, including
Superman ,Batman , and theX-men . Some of his other notable works include "Logan: Path of the Warlord", "The Further Adventures of Cyclops and Phoenix " and "Challengers of the Unknown ".Recently, Leon has contributed artwork for the "
Superman Returns " style guide, as well as a pair of Superman children's books forMeredith Books . He also illustrated most of the licensing artwork for the movie "Batman Begins ". He is currently working on the critically acclaimed "The Winter Men ", a mini-series forWildstorm /DC Comics.Leon lives in
