World Martial Arts Championships

World Martial Arts Championships

The The World Martial Arts Championships (WMAC) is held globally every year in countries such as the U.S., Canada, Japan, South Korea, Australia.

The contest itself tests the endurance and strength of Martial Artists with an Asian martial arts background. For example, Karate, Taekwondo, Jujutsu, San Shou and others. Disciplines in the Brazilian field are not permissible.

This is an amateur contest and anyone with a black belt qualification can apply for entrance. With a small payable entrance fee, martial artists from all over the world can enter and test their skills.

History

The competition itself started circa late 1950s and is as popular as it was back then. People from all age groups - adolescent, teenage, prime and masters are eligible.

Qualification

The competitor is given the chance of the best of three fights. Any person who wins all three automatically qualifies for the next round until there are only the top fighters left, of which they take a chance in winning a trophy with no real prize money.
