Karedi mata temple:- Build by Karan one of the kouravs around 5000–7000 years before. It is one of the most bueatiful places in Shajapur. There existed one type of civilisation which have not been researched till now. Many idols of Hindu god have been taken out from earth. History
Shajapur is named for the Mughal emperor
Shah Jahan , who halted there in 1640; it was previously known as Kankdikheda. The original name was Shahjahanpur, which was later shortened to Shajapur. In the 18th century the town became part of the dominion of theMaratha leaderSindhia , founder of the state ofGwalior , and was the headquarters of a district of Gwalior state until Indian independence in 1947. After Independence, Shajapur and its district became part ofMadhya Bharat state, which was merged intoMadhya Pradesh onNovember 1 ,1956 .There is an old fort near the bank of chambal river, build by the mughal emperor. Now, there is district court in side the fort.
