"Rat Salad" is a two-and-a-half minute instrumental by Black Sabbath, from their 1970 album "Paranoid". The song's most prominent feature is a drum solo by Bill Ward, bookended by guitar riffs by Tony Iommi.

Van Halen considered adopting the name "Rat Salad" early on in their career, until then-lead singer David Lee Roth suggested simply using "Van Halen."Fact|date=February 2007

The song is featured on the B-side on the "Paranoid" single. A live version was also present on the unofficial Live at Last and the official Past Lives.
