Wélton Araújo Melo (born April 17, 1975 in Cambuci, Rio de Janeiro) is a former Brazilian footballer. He last played striker role for the Seattle Sounders of USL First Division.

Prior to playing for the Sounders, Welton was a two-time Major League Soccer all-star. During his career he played for the Miami Fusion, New England Revolution, Los Angeles Galaxy and Fredrikstad F.K. (in Norway). He is a member of the 30/30 club, scoring over 30 career goals and 30 career assists (43 and 34 respectively).

Melo currently resides in the Seattle area and plays on a local team.fact|date=February 2008
