IND Eighth Avenue Line of theNew York City Subway , located at the intersection of 145th Street and Saint Nicholas Avenue in theNew York City borough ofManhattan . It is served by the NYCS|A and NYCS|D trains (all times), by the NYCS|C train (all times except late nights), and by the NYCS|B train (weekdays). The upper level of the station is used by the NYCS|A and NYCS|C trains. The band is gold with black border. The station had a full mezzanine, although the central portion is now used as a police precinct. The lower level is used by NYCS|B and NYCS|D trains. The tile border here is gold with black and the name tablets are black with gold border. The northbound platform is extra wide, so that the three trackways on the lower level line up directly with those above. Escalators lead up from this level to the mezzanine, bypassing the upper-level platforms. The full-time entrance is at 145th Street with a part-time north exit at 147th Street.
This is the last stop for the NYCS|B during midday and early evenings. At these times, it lays up on the middle track. During rush hours, the NYCS|D train stops on the middle track, since it runs express on the
IND Concourse Line in the peak direction, while local stations are served by the NYCS|B.The station is a frequent transfer point for fans using the NYCS|D train to reach
Yankee Stadium . It is also close to the northern edge of the City College campus. The station and the streets leading to the college are well policed.Bus connections
