Kooey Kooey Kooey is a fictional country in the DC Universe.

Kooey Kooey Kooey is an island in the South Pacific. It was featured prominently in Justice League International as written by Keith Giffen and J.M. DeMatteis. It first appeared in Justice League America #33 (Publication: January 1989) The island was revealed to be a sentient creature that would occasionally decide to uproot itself and wander, though that aspect was not explored

Fictional Island Biography

Originally inhabited by natives, the Chief of Kooey Kooey Kooey decided to send many of the young men and women of his village to Ivy League colleges in America. Herb, one of the favored students, spends six years at Brooklyn College, a four year school (as Herb explains, "The language requirement really threw me.") Herb, with the skeptical encouragement of the Chief, sought out the the Justice League and brokered an embassy deal between them and the island.

Club JLI

Later, the Green Lantern Kilowog, Blue Beetle and Booster Gold construct an ill-fated casino and resort known as "Club JLI". Transport was arranged through standard-issue Justice League teleport tubes. Though seemingly successful, a near meta-human ability to count cards by the villain Big Sir (assisted by the villain Major Disaster) broke the bank. Club JLI went bankrupt just as Aquaman arrived on the island to warn of the island's awareness. It turns out the two entities know each otherclarifyme. Before this threat could be studied, the island uprooted and swam some hundred miles away. This action endangers the life of Lord, Huntress and Ice, who are temorarily stranded in the middle of the ocean. Major Disaster stops the island's movement with a well-placed, non-destructive volcanic eruption.

Dreamslayer

The extra dimensional villain Dreamslayer kidnaps the alternate universe robotic expert Mitch Wacky. While inhabiting the body of Maxwell Lord, he takes over the island and establishes a base with which to rebuild the Extremists. Dreamslayer takes over the minds and bodies of all the inhabitants of the island. When the Justice League arrives, they are faced with the dilemma of defeating the natives without hurting them. This results in Silver Sorceress being hit in the stomach by an arrow fired by a native. Mitch Wacky does not survive his imprisonment, killed by Dreamslayer. The Sorceress, before she dies of her wound, subdues and entraps Dreamslayer. She is buried on the island.

An alternate future version of the island was shown to be the site of Maxwell Lord's retirement. This was broken up when Booster Gold again arrives from the future.

The location was last featured in Suicide Squad volume 2 when it was effectively destroyed (at least any human settlings on the island were) by a tidal wave sent by extra dimensional invaders.
