Roman Andreyevich Sloudnov ( _ru. Роман Андреевич Слуднов) (born
February 24 ,1980 inOmsk ) is a Russian swimmer who won a bronze medal in the 100 mBreaststroke at the2000 Summer Olympics . Sloudnov was also the first male to break the "magic" one minute barrier for the 100 mbreaststroke , clocking a 59.97 in the final of the 100 mbreaststroke at the Russian National Championships and World Championship Trials inMoscow onJune 29 2001 at age 21. This "record of world records" also beat theworld record Sloudnov set the previous day of 1:00.26. Not even a month after breaking the one minute barrier, Sloudnov raised the bar again, hitting the pads at 59.94 in Fukuoka,Japan .References
