Pascal was born on 14 October 1949 on the island of Mauritius. She was educated in Paris and in London. Her first taste of showbiz came when she was dancing on "Top of the Pops" in the 1960s, which is where she met
Susan George andFraser Hines at the BBC.Her first movie was "Loving Feeling" (1968), directed by
Norman J. Warren , but her breakthrough film was "There's a Girl in My Soup" (1970) withPeter Sellers , playing Paola. Then came numerous guest star roles, with Rex Harrison in "Don Quixote", Lee Remick inTennessee Williams ' "Summer & Smoke", theBBC sitcom "Terry & June " and "Giants & Ogres" forGranada Television .Her eleven-year relationship with film actor Richard Johnson ended in 1980, although a son Nicholas was born in 1976. She was engaged to marry the
Formula One Ford designer Adrian Reynard of Reynard Racing Cars in 1981, but she broke off the engagement after she found out that he was still seeing his old girlfriend.She met comedy writer Vince Powell at
Thames Television in the mid 1970s, little realising that he was writing the part of saucy Danielle Favre for her in the sitcom "Mind Your Language " (1977). She did three series of the show before commencing stage roles in "Happy Birthday" (reuniting with Fraser Hines), and starring in a pantomime of "Alladin ". Pascal left for the USA in 1982 with Tim Hauser of theManhattan Transfer , where she acted in Hollywood with a two year contract in "The Young and The Restless ", "Gavillan", "My Man Adam", "Lightning", and the movie "The White Stallion" (1986). She received rave reviews inTwelfth Night playing Olivia and Rosalind inAs You Like It .Fact|date=August 2008Pascal returned to London in 1987, no longer having a taste for showbiz.
