Tung-Wang

Tung-Wang

Tung-Wang was a Buddhist monk who lived roughly 1200 years ago. He has compiled a number of stories (long and short) that have been translated. His most famous work was the story "The Cucumber Sage" a short-story about a monk that came to his care and taught many people the meaning of being a true buddhist monk. Some of his stories are based upon personal experiences, others are made up, but all have an underlying theme or moral to be told.

He was the Reverend Abbot of Han-Hsin monastery in China, and spent most of his life devoting himself to Buddhism, enlightenment and the enlightenment of others.
