10 January 1942 ) was a Portuguese football midfielder.He played for
Vitória Setúbal and Benfica. He stayed at Benfica, from 1966/67 to 1974/75, were he won the National Championship titles for 1966/67, 1967/68, 1968/69, 1970/71, 1971/72, 1972/73 and 1974/75, and the Cup of Portugal for 1969, 1970 and 1972.He had 36 caps for the National team, 12 of them as a Vitória Setúbal player, and 24 as a Benfica player. His first game was at
24 January 1965 , in the 5-1 win over Turkey, for the World Cup qualifyings.He was still at Vitória Setúbal during the World Cup 1966 finals in England. He moved to Benfica the next season, were he played at the Champions Cup final in 1968, lost to
Manchester United by 4-1, after extra-time. He did the Benfica equalizing goal.He played again at the
Independence Brazil Cup in 1972, were Portugal lost the final to Brasil, 0-1. That would be his last game for the National Team.As a football manager, he was assistant manager to José Torres at the World Cup 1986 finals.
