public school , in Dartmouth,Nova Scotia . It is operated by theHalifax Regional School Board (HRSB) and is now anInternational Baccalaureate (IB) world school, offering the Diploma program.Over 1200 students currently attend, and the graduating class of 2007 will have approximately 350 students.
The school was built in 1959 and has gone through numerous
renovations throughout the years, now boasting the largestauditorium east ofMontreal , and a second gymnasium added in renovation. Additionally, upgrades to thecafeteria and auditorium have given them a more modern design.History
The school was built in 1959. In 1970 an addition to the school created a second gym, now known as the new gym, and a new wing. The additions in 1978 and 1986 added on wings, an auditorium, and expanded the
library . Prince Andrew's unofficial rival school isDartmouth High School , with whom they play an exhibiton football game against every Thanksgiving weekend called the Turkey BowlFine Arts

2001: FamePrince Andrew often hosts the Christmas concerts of its elementary feeder schools in its Auditorium. This is largely due to the fact that under fire code, the elementary school gymnasiums are not large enough to hold the number of people that attend those events.
The school is also home to a large number a bands including several members of Thy Goat and Various Artist, whose hit 'Underground Gnome Space Station' is often requested to be performed.
The Staff
In the 2006-2007 school year there were many staff changes including a new Vice-Principal. 19 teachers retired, moved out of Nova Scotia, or changed schools largely due to a change in the Nova Scotia Teacher's Union pension plan.

*(PAWEECA), Prince Andrew Woodlawn Environmental Enhancement Conservation Association— the only federally recognized, student operated,non-profit society with charitable status in Nova Scotia. The group was run for many years by now retired teacher Greg King and is currently under the guidance of teacher Colin MacEachern. Some projects have included work with the Children’s Wish Foundation, a replanting initiative atPoint Pleasant Park ,McNabs Island Clean-up, the Nova ScotiaMental Health Association, Dartmouth Senior Centre Activities, PAHS Scholarship Fund, Class Gift, Dartmouth Rotary, and their own “Trees for Kids”fundraiser for the IWK Youth Telethon. PAWEECA has also partnered with such organizations asFree The Children ,Action Against Hunger , and the Nova Scotia Gambia Association. They sent shoes to Afghanistan in 2007 and were recognized with an award at a local ceremony honouring voluntarism.Teams & Sports
