Athens Academy is an independent, non-profit college preparatory co-educational school founded in 1967. The school is located on a convert|105|acre|km2|sing=on wooded site south of Athens, Georgia. Sports

Nicknamed the Spartans, Athens Academy competes in region 8-A of the Georgia High School Association (GHSA). They field teams in cross country, football, swimming, golf, track and field, basketball, wrestling (girls only), volleyball (girls only), soccer, tennis, and baseball.
