PALINET

PALINET

PALINET is a non-profit member-owned and governed organization, representing hundreds of libraries, information centers, museums, archives, and other similar organizations throughout Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and elsewhere. PALINET was established on January 11, 1936 out of a need for local and then regionwide union cataloging (an effort to combine library catalog records). Currently PALINET provides professional training to thousands of people annually through its classroom and online distance education events, provides discounts for library services through a Cooperative Purchasing Program, gives assistance to members with technology concerns, and is the region’s provider of OCLC services. PALINET is one of the largest U.S. library networks, serving 600+ members and is similar in scope to other library-oriented consortia such as Amigos Library Services, BCR, OhioLINK, and SOLINET.
