The Battle of Antukyah was fought in 1531 between the forces of Adal under Imam Ahmad ibn Ibrihim al-Ghazi and an Ethiopian army under Eslamu. Huntingford has located Antukyah about 55 miles south of Lake Hayq, at the edge of the Ethiopian highlands. Despite the care Eslamu took in deploying his men, the Ethiopian army panicked and fled when the Imam's cannons were fired. The "Futuh al-Habasha" compared the number of dead and wounded to the previous Battle of Shimbra Kure. [Sihab ad-Din Ahmad, "Futuh", p. 139.]
