KTVN Channel 2 is the CBS affiliate serving Reno, Nevada and Lake Tahoe, California. KTVN's owner is Sarkes Tarzian, Inc. KTVN also operates on digital channel 13.

KTVN's news slogan is "Coverage You Can Count On." In 2005, KTVN hired away veteran Reno market anchor Bill Brown from rival KRNV to anchor many of its evening newscasts.

History

KTVN signed on the air on June 4, 1967, originally as an ABC affiliate, but took over the CBS affiliation in 1972, after disputes between the CBS network and its affiliate at the time, KOLO-TV.
