Robert Van't Hof (born
April 10 1959 , in Lynwood,California ) is atennis coach and former professional tennis player from theUnited States .Prior to turning professional, Van't Hof played tennis for the
University of Southern California and won the NCAA singles title in1980 .As a professional player, Van't Hof won his first top-level singles title in
1981 atTaipei . He won his second in1989 inSeoul . His best singles performance at a Grand Slam event came in1983 at Wimbledon, where he reached the fourth round.Van't Hof won a total of two top-level singles titles and six tour doubles titles. His career-high rankings were World No. 25 in singles (in 1983), and World No. 20 in doubles (in
1986 ). He retired from the professional tour in1990 .Since retiring as a player, Van't Hof has worked as a tennis coach, working with high-profile players including
Lindsay Davenport .Van't Hof's son, Kaes, played collegiately at the University of Southern California and is currently on the ATP tour in doubles.
