Dave Ellesmere is a
drummer , born inSouthport ,England and who played in 1980's UK punk bands such asThe Insane , Discharge,Doctor and the Crippens andDisgust . He has also drummed withGaz Sumner inHylas and the Nymphs .Career
In the late 1970s, he played drums with The Insane, a UK punk band formed in Wigan. In the 1980s, he played in several
UK 82 -style groups. After Discharge founding member Terry Roberts (drums) departed (later joiningUK Subs ) Ellesmere took the drum chair for the "Why" EP.cite book |last=Glasper |first=Ian |title= Burning Britain: The History of Punk 1980-1984 |year=2004 |month= |publisher=Cherry Red Books |isbn=1-901447-24-3 |pages= ] , a recording which gave the band their first number one on the UK indie charts.
