Lardacein

Lardacein

Lardacein is a protein found in tissues affected with amyloid degeneration. It is insoluble in nearly all reagents, is not acted upon by gastric juice, and is not readily subject to putrefaction. It gives a brown color when treated with iodine and sulfuric acid.
