day school located on the south-east corner of Davisville Road and Mount Pleasant Road inToronto .Established in 2002, the school offers a comprehensive academic program to 360 students in Grades 7 through 12 for the 2007-2008 academic year. The school is housed in a state-of-the-art facility built in 2002 that includes 21 classrooms, a full size gymnasium, indoor
climbing wall , art room, digital music room and drama facility. In addition to its urban campus, Greenwood also utilizes several outdoor facilities and destinations to deliver its experiential education and Outdoor Leadership Program such asKilcoo Camp and Outward Bound. The school does not have a library, however it does have a Reading Room which houses the school's book collection.In early 2008 it was announced that founding Principal, David Thompson, would be leaving Greenwood in June 2008 to become the Headmaster at
Lakefield College School . The current Vice Principal, Allan Hardy, was appointed as his successor. Jane Audet from The Bishop Strachan School has now joined Greenwood College School as the Vice-Principal School Life.The school's philosophy embraces life balance for all of its students, incorporating service to the community and an appreciation of the outdoors. In the past two years, Greenwood has expanded onto one of the surrounding residential blocks. In turn, Greenwood built outdoor basketball courts, and offices.
Graduates of Greenwood College School have gone on to attend notable University’s such as McGill and Western’s Ivey School of Business, as well as schools in the United States and the United Kingdom.
They allowed the Rolling Stones to rehearse in their Gymnasium right before their 2005-2007 "A Bigger Bang" world tour, sparking considerable media attention.
The tuition fee for the 2007-2008 academic year was $23,400, this covers students participation in school programs and also 7, 8 and 9 Outdoor Leadership Program. However the tuition fee does not cover textbooks, overnight trips, uniform, food and drinks from the school cafeteria, or items bought at the School Store.
