Guarlford

Guarlford

Guarlford is a hamlet in Worcestershire, England. It is situated three kilometres (two miles) east of Great Malvern. The village is compact, and has a parish church (St Mary's); the Church of England parish includes Madresfield village.

An old red brick building in the village housed a radio listening post during World War II. Operated by TRE and the RAF, it helped locate the German V2 missile base at Peenemünde, Germany. This was subsequently bombed by the RAF in Operation Crossbow. [http://www.lhi.org.uk/docs/Draft_Guarlford_Parish_Walk_Two.doc]
