Máirín Bean Uí Dhalaigh (1909 –
25 January 1994 ) was a Gaelic scholar and theFirst Lady of theRepublic of Ireland from 1974 to 1976, when her husband, former Attorney General and Chief JusticeCearbhall Ó Dálaigh , served asPresident of Ireland . Following her husband's resignation in 1976 and his death in 1978, Uí Dhálaigh was appointed to the president's advisory Council of State by his successor,Patrick Hillery .Uí Dhálaigh died on
25 January , 1994. The couple had no children.
