Thomas "Morgi" Morgenstern (born
October 30 ,1986 inSpittal an der Drau ) is anAustria nski jumper .He is one of the biggest natural ski jumping talents in Austria. At the 2002-3
Four Hills Tournament , he made his ski jumping debut. During this season he finished 9th inOberstdorf , 25th inGarmisch-Partenkirchen , 9th inInnsbruck and 6th inBischofshofen . Five days after the end of the tournament, he won his first World Cup jump, inLiberec ,Czech Republic .He continued his success well into the 2003-4 season. He was second overall to
Sigurd Pettersen during most of the Four Hills tournament, finally ending up in fourth place.Morgenstern has three gold medals in the team competitions at the
FIS Nordic World Ski Championships , sweeping both hill events in 2005 (normal and large) and winning the large hill event in 2007. He finally won his first individual medal at the championships when he earned a bronze in the individual normal hill in 2007.During the
2006 Winter Olympics , he won the gold medals in the individual and team large hill competitions.At the beginning of the 2007-08 season, he won the first six competitions, which is an all-time record. With these six wins he also tied the record for most wins in a row, previously set by
