Bramfield, Suffolk

Bramfield, Suffolk

Bramfield is a small village in the county of Suffolk, England. The village is found just off the A12 road, one of the main arterial routes through the county.

Its most notable feature is the stunning 13th-century church, St. Andrew's, which has a separate 12th-century tower standing in the church grounds. It is one of 38 existing round-tower churches in Suffolk and the only detached example in the county.

"The Bell" is one of the few pubs where the traditional pub game Ringing the bull can be seen. The second pub, "The Queens Head", is cosy and inviting, has been in the Good Food Guide for many years, and has won the pub of the year twice. The owners strive to provide the best local organic produce. They took over the pub in 1997.

Bramfield is the burial place of Gladwyn Jebb, the first acting Secretary-General of the United Nations.
