powers = Telepathy, TelekinesisTellus is a fictional
DC Comics superhero and a member of theLegion of Super-Heroes featured in the 30th century. Tellus was co-created by writerPaul Levitz and artistSteve Lightle .Fictional character biography
Tellus, real name Ganglios, is a native of the
water planet Hykraius. All Hykraians are water-breathers and cannot survive above water without special breathing apparatus (in Tellus' case, a specialhelmet ). Like all members of his race, Tellus was both telepathic and telekinetic, and it was his skill with these powers that helped gain him entry into the Legion Academy and later the Legion itself. He joined the Legion alongsidePolar Boy ,Magnetic Kid ,Sensor Girl andQuislet in "Legion of Super-Heroes" v.3 #14.He was the first (normally) non-humanoid Legionnaire. (Quislet, who joined at the same time, did not have a body in the normal sense. It has been shown that Durlans (
Chameleon Boy 's race) had a 'default' form that was non-humanoid, but Chameleon Boy normally kept his humanoid form.)Tellus served in the Legion for many years but did not appear during the "Five-Year Gap" storyline. It was later revealed that during this period, Tellus was aligned with The
Dark Circle , an organization previously know for its criminal ties, then reconfigured as a quasi-religious organization. He has not appeared since the Legionreboot after the "Zero Hour" event. The events of the "
Infinite Crisis " miniseries have apparently restored a close analogue of the Pre-"Crisis on Infinite Earths " Legion to continuity, as seen in "The Lightning Saga " story arc in "Justice League of America " and "Justice Society of America ", and in the "Superman and the Legion of Super-Heroes" story arc in "Action Comics ". A statue of Tellus was seen in "" #1. However, Tellus himself has yet to reappear.External links
