The Frankston Football Club is an
Australian rules football club based inFrankston, Victoria and currently playing in theVictorian Football League . It was formed in 1887. The Dolphins have no alignments to any AFL clubs and are not seeking a partner in the foreseeable future. Therefore, Frankston are at a disadvantage in the competition, as players from AFL clubs cannot be dropped back to play for them. Aaron Edwards shine for the Dolphins and saw them reach the finals only to go down to theNorthern Bullants in the second week..On the morning of February 13,2008 the Frankston Football Club's historic grandstand named after stalwart Bryan Mace was destroyed by fire. The police are treating it as suspicious. This grandstand had been there since the early 1930's and was an icon of the local community. Damage is estimated at over $1million.
