Transmitter Stolp

Transmitter Stolp was a major broadcasting station in the vicinity of Stolp, Germany (now Słupsk, Poland), and began its service in 1938. The transmitter used an antenna system consisting of 10 radio masts arranged in a circle with a diameter of one kilometer. Techniques were tested here for constructing fade-reducing transmitting plants for longwave transmitters and for mediumwave antennas with adjustable directional capabilities. Transmitter Stolp was destroyed near the end of World War II in 1945. The area was granted to Poland by Germany after the war and the exact location of the former station is now unknown.
