Darkness Against Child Abuse (DACA) is an anti-child abuse group that raises awareness of the problem for Pagans, Satanists, Goths and others of "alternative" lifestyles. Founded in 1999, DACA was the first organization of its kind to embrace the "dark" sub-cultures for the purpose of educating parents on the prevention of child abductions and child abuse and to offer a voice to parents with "alternative" beliefs and lifestyles. In 2003 Shadow and Anajiel Villanueva, the founders of DACA, started a second organization called "Darkness Against Domestic Violence". In February of 2005, DACA was granted a U.S. Trademark on their logo and organization name.
Qualifications and Education
Shadow Villanueva has obtained a bachelor of science in developmental psychology, and will be working towards a master’s degree in counseling and family therapy. He has met high educational standards in the courses of Foundations in Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Child Psychology, Adolescent psychology, Child Behavior, Human Development, Basic Counseling Techniques, Educational Psychology, Methods of Psychological Research, Art Therapy, and Group Counseling Practice & Applications as well as completing an independent study on using play therapy with abused children. He has also been an affiliate of the American Psychological Association since 2004, a member of the Sigma Alpha Lambda National Honor Society and the Phi Alpha Theta Honor Society for History since 2005 and has served as Vice-President and President of the East Tennessee State University Human Development Organization.
Distinctions
Shadow was awarded the 2005 - 2006 ETSU Clemmer College of Education award for outstanding work in the Department of Human Development & Learning.
In April 2007, Shadow received a Certificate of Achievement & Leadership from East Tennessee State University in recognition of his community work with the ETSU Human Development Organization.

In January 2003 an article written by Shadow Villanueva for the DACA website on the subject of Occult Ritual Abuse was published in the occult/new age magazine "Chronicles of Power".
In 2005, an interview with Shadow was published in the book "Embracing the Darkness" which was published by Dark Moon Press.
