Claudia Ellquist

Claudia Ellquist is a retired attorney and co-chair of both the Arizona Green Party and the Green Party of Pima County.[1][2] Ellquist ran for Pima County Attorney in 2004, receiving 23,028 votes for 7.64% of the total vote [1]. Her campaign focused mainly on a four-year moratorium of the death penalty.[3]

Family life and education

Elliquist was born in Duluth, Minnesota. She received a bachelor's degree in 1973 and law degrees in 1976 from the University of Arizona. She resides in Tucson, Arizona.[3]

Career and public service

Ellquist has been an elected leader with the National Organization for Women since 1977, and has been a local and national leader with Church Women United. She was also a founding Commissioner of the Arizona Clean Elections Commission.[3] She is currently Executive Director for the Coalition of Arizonans to Abolish the Death Penalty.[citation needed]
