Cornwall County Council

Cornwall County Council is the upper-tier local authority for the non-metropolitan county of Cornwall, in England, the United Kingdom. It currently consists of 82 councillors, and is controlled by the Liberal Democrats, who have 48 councillors, versus 19 independents, 9 Conservatives, 5 Labour councillors, and one from the small Liberal Party. The council has a tradition of large groups of independents, having been controlled by independents in the 1970s and 1980s.

Composition

Elections are held every four years, interspersed by three years of elections to the six district councils in the county.
