Sick, Sad World

Sick, Sad World

"Sick, Sad World" is the name of a fictional television program that existed on MTV's animated series "Daria", making it a show-within-a-show. The program was an exaggerated parody of modern sensationalist, oddity programs featuring the obscene and the obscure, replete with a sadistically enthusiastic male voice-over. This particular fictional television show would only ever feature in the series as short facetious, hyperbolic, and often absurd jokes or skits which took the form of promotional advertisements (i.e. "...coming up, on "Sick, Sad World"..." or "...next, on "Sick, Sad World"). No full episode of the fictional program was ever shown, and only thrice was any portion of an actual episode, instead of a commercial tagline segment, featured.

The "Sick, Sad World" announcer was voiced by John Worth Lynn, Jr.

Sick Sad World is also a Grindcore project from Canada started in 2001.
