Todd Hallibutt

Todd Hallibutt is an English writer of short stories for children. Most recently he has been recognized by the Stephen's Review for his anthology Five Merry Gentlemen. The same book has also received the B. Mow Writing award for its influence on children's books around the world.

Biography

Todd Hallibutt was born on November 6, 1960, in London to parents Marie and Harold Hallibutt. He attended Whitsun Secondary and then Eton university, finally graduating with a degree in English. He married Christine Hallibutt (nee Wilson) and lives currently in Leeds, with two children. As of 1994, he stopped writing short stories and was a columnist for Leeds Today though 2004 when he moved to Darwin, Australia. He has since become a columnist in Land & Sea Australia, a local bi-monthly magazine.

Bibliography

Hallibutt's most recognized anthology is the "Five Merry Gentlemen", a collection of five short stories about five gentlemen, circa 1740, who engage in silly and inane adventures in the countryside. Hallibutt has also written:
