Maturity

Roni started out with a reputation as a small, shy girl from Rishon LeZion, singing catchy pop songs without any meaning, theme or message. Quickly, she was flooded by success when she started to attack many singers, actors and critics that criticized her music, such as Ninet Tayeb, Aviv Geffen or Adi Himelbloy.

As a response, she released the song "Adoni", composed and produced by the respected musician Ivri Lider, containing adjusted lines like "Ki ata lo roe af ekhad mi-meter" (some expression for "You think you're the best") and even provocative and cynical lines about sex, nudity, impermeability and lack of human feelings, something that was unusual for Roni's music that usually sang about dancing, boys, success and good life.

Later on 2006 she released "Sukariya" (Candy). Many critics interpreted it as referring to sexual acts and the word "candy" as a euphemism for genitalia. The music video shows Roni in an elevator with a man, thinking only of sex with him. The song was originally prohibited from being broadcast on the Israeli music channel but later was allowed, once the most provocative scenes had been removed. It was described as "The worst Israeli song of 2006" by Glglz.

In an interview, Roni describes "Sukariya" as the song that finally proves she is mature and not a teenager anymore, as many critics had claimed.

In 2007 Roni released a dance lesson DVD called "Al Ktzot Ha'Etzbaot" (On The Tip Of The Toes) and later a new single, "Tzafuf" (Crowded), from her yet-to-be titled album which will be released in 2008.
