- Tetsuya Chiba
is a Japanese manga artist, famous for his sports stories.
He was born in

One of his younger brothers is mangakaAkio Chiba . Chiba's works include "Tomorrow's Joe " ("Ashita no Joe "), his best known work. At the end of the Sino-Japanese War, Chiba's family lived in the attic of a work-acquaintance of his father until they could find a way to get back to Japan. In 1956, while still in
high school , Chiba wrote "Fukushū no Semushi Otoko" for a publisher that produced rental books and was paid ¥12315.Fact|date=February 2007 In 1958, he made his professional debut in "Shōjo Book " with "Butōkai no Shōjo". In the sixties, he wroteshōnen andshōjo manga at the same time.
