Aelfinn

Aelfinn

Aelfinn are a group of fictional 'people' in Robert Jordan's "The Wheel of Time" series.

The Aelfinn are beings that are snake-like in appearance and reside in a dimension outside that of "Randland" that one may get to through a twisted red doorway "ter'angreal". Referred to as the Snake People, the Aelfinn have the ability to read the future by granting the visitor three questions they may ask, though the answer may not be that easy to understand. It has been recently revealed that one can also travel to the world of the Aelfinn (and/or Eelfinn) by way of the Tower of Ghenjei. There is some link between the Aelfinn and the game Snakes and Foxes, a game in which you cannot win unless you cheat.

Their "cousins" are the Eelfinn. Although this could be because they were under threat at the time, the Aelfinn seem to be far more benevolent than their cruel cousins.
