The Robert Bosch Stiftung GmbH (Robert Bosch Foundation) is one of the major German foundations associated with a private company. It holds 92% of the
capital stock fromRobert Bosch GmbH of 1.2 billion euros. Established in 1964, it represents the philanthropic and social endeavors of founderRobert Bosch (1861-1942).The purpose of the foundation is exclusively non-profit. It is both operative and grant-giving. In its activities, the foundation concentrates on six subject areas:

*International Relations – Western Europe, North America
*International Relations – Central Europe, Eastern Europe
* Education and Society
* Society and CultureThe foundation operates three facilities for health and research in
Stuttgart : theRobert Bosch Hospital (Robert-Bosch-Krankenhaus), the Dr. Margarete Fischer-Bosch Institute for ClinicalPharmacology and the Institute for the History of Medicine, which houses the private papers of the founder ofhomeopathy ,Samuel Hahnemann .The Robert Bosch Stiftung administrates three other foundations:
* the Hans Walz Stiftung, which funds naturopathic treatment.
* die Otto und Edith Mühlschlegel-Stiftung, whose funds are used for projects that deal with the topic of aging and enhancing the quality of life in the old age.
* the DVA-Stiftung, which is a subsidiary of the Robert Bosch Stiftung since January 2005 and supports Franco-German relations in the fields of culture, literature and theatre.From 1964 to 2005, the foundation provided 735 million euros in funding. In 2005, it issued grants worth 55.6 million euros.
