Zalium

Zalium

Zalium is a zirconium-based alloy. It is used for machining casings for some high-end watches. Its name originates of Zirconium and allium lily.

Reportedly far harder than titanium, Zalium is used primarily in the aerospace industry in jet engines, to make surgical tools and in a rare instance a fine jewellery watch case.

Zalium is difficult to work with and must be machined from an ingot. Zalium dust is also very flammable.
