Suguta Valley

Suguta Valley

Suguta is an arid part of the Great Rift Valley in Kenya, directly south of Lake Turkana. The valley is floored by a seasonal stream complex, the Suguta River, that terminates in the seasonal playa lake Lake Alablab. Lake Logipi, a saline, alkaline lake that is often inhabited by flamingoes, lies at the northern end of the valley, where it is separated from Lake Turkana by a complex series of volcanoes called the Barrier.

This region is sparsely populated. Members of the Turkana people live in parts of the Suguta Valley.
