CAF Confederation Cup

The CAF Confederation Cup (or "CAF Cup") is an international club association football competition run by the Confederation of African Football.

History

The competition was traditionally open to the runners-up of domestic leagues, but in 2004 the competition was merged with African Cup Winners' Cup. Since then, the winners of domestic cup competitions have also entered the CAF Confederation Cup. Also, clubs eliminated in the third qualifying round of the CAF Champions League could go on to compete in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The final is a two legged (home and away) affair with ties broken via the away goals rule.
