Junagadh District is located on the
Kathiawar peninsula in westernGujarat , with the city ofJunagadh as its administrative headquarters. The district is surrounded byRajkot District (North),Porbandar District (North-West),Amreli District (East). To the South and West is theArabian Sea . The district had a population of 2,448,173 of which 29.06 % were urban as of 2001.
