Judith Edelman

Judith Edelman

Judith Edelman (born on November 14, 1964 in Manhattan) is a contemporary American bluegrass/folk musician and the daughter of the winner of the 1972 Nobel Prize in Medicine Gerald Edelman. She graduated from Swarthmore College, then pursued a career in Third World development in the San Francisco Bay Area, Kenya, and Zimbabwe. Illness forced her to return to San Francisco, where she began her musical career in the mid-1990s. Her ex-husband, Matt Flinner, is among the musicians who have performed with her band. She has released three albums on Compass Records. She is currently scoring documentaries, several of which have been aired on PBS and BBC Channel 4 in London.
