The Boulevard at the Capital Centre
- The Boulevard at the Capital Centre
The Boulevard at the Capital Centre is an open-air shopping center located on the site of the former Capital Centre, which opened in December 1973 and was demolished in December 2002. The three primary sports tenants (the NBA's Washington Wizards, the NHL's Washington Capitals, and Georgetown University basketball teams) had moved to the MCI Center in Washington five years earlier, in December 1997.
Opened in 2003, The Boulevard at Capital Centre is next to the Largo Town Center Washington Metro station (the eastern terminus of the Blue Line) in Landover, Maryland. The facility has more than 70 establishments.
These include the Magic Johnson Theatres (with stadium seating and some of the largest screens in the D.C. metro area), Borders Books & Music, Circuit City, Linens 'N Things, DSW Shoe Warehouse, Harold Pener Man of Fashion, the Men's Wearhouse, Kay Jewelers, the Classic Woman, Ashley Stewart, Lane Bryant, Nine West, Only Nails, Technicolor Salon & Spa, and the Gallery of African Wildlife/Contemporary Art.
Eateries include the Red Star Tavern, Qdoba Mexican Grill, Stonefish Grill, Kobe Japanese Steak House, Gladys Knight & Ron Winans Restaurant, Chuck E. Cheese's, Five Guys Burgers and Fries, Chick-fil-A, Uno Chicago Grill, Cold Stone Creamery, Golden Corral, and Starbucks.
