Fred Nicholas

Frederick William Herbert Nicholas (born July 25, 1893 in Federated Malay States and died October 20, 1962, in Kensington, London) was an English first class cricketer who played for Essex County Cricket Club in a first-class career that spanned from 1912 to 1929. A right-handed batsman and a wicketkeeper he scored 2634 runs in 76 games for Essex at an average of 22.51 with a highest score of 140, being his only first-class hundred. He took 51 catches and made 16 stumpings. He is also the grandfather of the former Hampshire County Captain and now Nine Network and Channel 5 cricket commentator, Mark Nicholas.
