He is currently editor of the Weekend section of the
Daily Telegraphin the UK. He previously worked in New Delhi for two years, as a foreign correspondentfor the Daily Telegraph, and has also lived in Cochin, Kerala. He lives in Wiltshire with his wife and three children.

Its publisher, Patrick Janson-Smith, told "The Bookseller": "John Le Carre meets Jason Bourne - it's bloody good. He has reinvented the spy novel for the 21st century." He has written two other books, both of them spy novels: "The Riot Act", published by Serpent's Tail 1997, and "The Cardamom Club", published by Blackamber in 2003 (now part of Arcadia Books). "The Cardamom Club" was also published in India (2004) by Penguin Books. "The Riot Act" was shortlisted by the
Crime Writers' Associationfor its best first novel award, and has been published by Gallimard in Franceas part of its acclaimed "serie noir" imprint.
