- Zaķusala
Zaķusala (Meaning "Hares' Island" in Latvian) is one of several islands in the
Daugava river in the central part of the cityRiga , the capital ofLatvia . Zakusala is home ot theRiga Radio and TV Tower , which was completed in 1986. The tower is the tallest structure in theBaltic States . On the northern tip of the island, alongside therailway trestles are remnants of an older railway bridge that was blown up during theSecond World War .External links
