KLFY-TV, channel 10, is a CBS affiliate in Lafayette, Louisiana. Its transmitter is located near Branch, Louisiana. The station is owned by Young Broadcasting.

History

The station signed on June 3, 1955. It has always been a CBS affiliate, though it aired some ABC programming until KATC came on in 1962.

Today

KLFY has been the dominant station in Acadiana for nearly all of its history. It is well known in the market for its local shows Passe Partout "(title is French for "passkey", "all-purpose", or "cross-cut saw")" and Meet Your Neighbor, both of which have been on the air for over 35 years. The Louisiana Association of Broadcasters has recently named KLFY "Station of the Year," an award the news station is no stranger to. KLFY works to bring viewers a well-rounded and balanced presentation of daily events, while also keeping a strong hand in community affairs. Each year, the station's main community projects such as "Running of the Ducks" with the Big Brothers/ Big Sisters and "Food For Families," spearheaded by Maria Placer, bring the community together with the Spirit of Acadiana. The popular MDA telethon has become less of a live event and more of a community affairs program.

KFLY also airs syndicated programming such as Live with Regis and Kelly, Dr. Phil, Judge Judy, Millionaire, Entertainment Tonight and The Insider.
