Beta (velocity)

Beta (velocity): β in special relativity is the speed of an object relative to the speed of light (β = "v"/"c").The advantage of using β is that is it dimensionless and sometimes simplifies relativity-related expressions. For example, the Lorentz factor can be written in terms of β, and so can the Lorentz transformation.
